Multiple Teams · WINTER Spectator Attendance at Extracurricular Activities

Jefferson R7 Community,

Click on the following link for the official press release on Attendance to Extracurricular Events at Jefferson R7: Winter Season COVID Spectator MEMO to community

As the current COVID-19 pandemic is changing everything around us.  Our Winter extra-curricular events will have restrictions on spectators.  At this time, (11/19/20) the Jefferson R7 School District will limit the number of spectators at ALL activities (JHS and Danby).  We will reevaluate the situation weekly with guidance from the Jefferson County Health Department and make any necessary adjustments to our policies.

The WINTER SEASON attendance policy as of 11/19/20 is as follows:

  1. Home Games: Our participants (team, cheerleaders, dance, coaches) will be allowed 4 “spectators”.  We will NOT be doing Pass Lists as we did this Fall
    1. We will have our Team Rosters printed out at the gate table with 4 spots next to each participant. You will sign your name next to the participant you are there to watch.  Once that participants 4 spots are taken, no one else will be allowed to enter for that participant.
    2. The “visiting team” will be allowed 2 “spectators” per participant at Jefferson.
  2. Away Contests: Our participants (team) will be allowed 2 “spectators” per participant at a majority of our contests.  We will follow the Away Schools spectator guidelines.
    1. These guidelines will be communicated from the Athletic Department when we know the exact guidelines from the other school.
  3. Masks
    1. Masks must be worn while entering the facility
    2. Masks must be worn while social distancing guidelines can’t be followed
  4. Entry Fee
    1. We WILL be charging gate this Winter. $3 for adults, $1 for students.
  5. Live Stream
    1. We will live stream as many games as possible. We will also be working with the opposing schools to get their live stream information.
      1. The athletic department will send out this information on a daily basis.

If at anytime these restrictions can be adjusted, the athletic department will notify the community.

These restrictions are being put in place to help minimize the transmission of COVID-19 while at the same time allowing our students the ability to participate.
