On Friday, January 23rd, Jefferson High School hosted its Cancer Awareness Basketball Games vs. Herculaneum High School, with a crowd of over 800 fans there to watch some great basketball and support a great cause honoring three families. It began at 4:00pm with the JV girls game followed by the JV boys, then the Varsity girls followed by the Varsity boys. With the selling of t-shirts, donations of money and items to be raffled off from local companies, NHS selling cake pops, and donation of the gate and concession money, Jefferson High School raised $4,200!!! The money went to two families, one from Herculaneum High School and one from Jefferson R7 who has dealt with a tragedy over the past few months. We hope that this money can help each family in anyway possible during these hard times. We would like to thank the sponsors, local businesses, and Andrea and Bill Hammock for making this night such a success.
